Today’s closure was necessary as the highway to the resort remained closed following an intense storm cycle. This recent storm delivered 36 inches (over 3 feet!) of new snow in just 24 hours and 64" (5 feet) in 72 hours.

While access to the mountain was temporarily not possible, some of our team members who hunkered down at the resort last night have been hard at work continuing storm recovery efforts today - digging out lifts, conducting avalanche mitigation, locating and rebuilding fence lines, grooming, and clearing critical areas across the mountain.

Check out our social media for some snaps taken by our team on site today, capturing their hard work conducting storm recovery and preparing the mountain to reopen. A huge thank you to our dedicated staff who stayed on site and put in long hours to make tomorrow’s reopening possible. Their commitment, teamwork, and focus on safety are what keep this mountain moving.

We know everyone is excited for this incredible refresh and the good news keeps coming. Forecasts are calling for an additional 11 to 17 inches of new snow during the day tomorrow.

That said, we still have additional digging and mitigation work to complete in the morning. With continued snowfall, please be aware there is potential for delays, staggered lift openings, and impacts to operations as our teams work to safely open terrain throughout the day.

As always, please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check road conditions before heading up. Continue to check for updates on our Conditions & Updates page and travel safely.

When traveling to the mountains:

  • Slow down and drive for conditions.

  • Check road conditions before you go.

  • Carry chains and know how to use them.

  • Pack snacks, water, and blankets.

We appreciate your patience and can’t wait to welcome you back to enjoy all this new snow!
