Operations Update for Friday, February 20th, 2026!

This morning, we were confident we could open. However, after our operations teams went out on the hill to assess conditions, it was deemed safer to remain closed due to the ongoing storm, high winds, and elevated snow slide risk.
We deeply appreciate the efforts of our team who worked hard in preparation to open. However, their safety and the safety of our guests remains our highest priority.
We will reopen tomorrow, starting with frontside lifts first and expanding terrain from there as our team digs us out and assesses conditions. Our team will continue avalanche mitigation and operational assessments in the morning to ensure a safe return to the mountain.
Thank you for your patience. We’re looking forward to welcoming you back and enjoying all of this new snow together, it will be worth the wait. The storm clears out later this afternoon and tomorrow will be a bluebird day for the history books!
As always, please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check road conditions before heading up. Continue to check for updates on our Conditions & Updates page and travel safely.
At this time Arnold, CA is experiencing a major power outage affecting many businesses, we advise you stop in Murphys for any last minute supplies or stop by the bear valley general store inside the Bear Valley Lodge. Our restaurants will be operating this weekend, please see below for their hours of operation.
