What to Expect on 1.16.23 – MLK Weekend 2023

Weather: 7-11” of new snow expected tonight (1.15.23)

Tomorrow: 7-11” of new snow during the day (1.16.23) 

Tomorrow night: 1-2” of new snow 

Holiday Weekend: It’s the last day of the holiday weekend, we do EXPECT crowds, plan ahead, visit our website to familiarize yourself with our facilities and what we offer! BE PREPARED – PAY ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER FORECAST, Check road conditions through CalTrans before driving up. 

Terrain: Planned to be OPEN on 11.16.23 –  Cub, Super Cub, both carpets, Mokelumne Express, Polar Express, and Backside. NO lower mountain. 

Safety Tips: Ski/ Ride with a buddy, avoid tree wells, adhere to closures! 

Travel: Check CalTrans for road conditions. Carry chains, know how to use them. 

Parking: On holidays, when the lots are getting full, we have preferred parking. This will allow you to park right in front of the lodge! Preferred parking is $20 for a car and $30 for an RV/trailer. We do allow overnight parking for $30 a night. *preferred parking spots are limited (no reserved spaces) 

Shuttle Service: One bus will be running tomorrow. Head to Bearvalley.com for the schedule. 


Power Outages: Power outages REMAIN a possibility through these storm cycles due to heavy snowfall. As a reminder – Cub, Super Cub, and both carpets cannot run on auxiliary power so if we lose power, we will close them. Make, Koala, and Polar can all run on auxiliary power. 

Guest Services: Our guest services office has doubled in size this year & our guest Services team is here to assist YOU in person, please utilize this resource.
