California Safety Day 2022

California Safety Day is fast approaching, and we’re making it fun! The event will take place this coming Saturday, January 29th.

It’s a costume day! Come dressed as the safest person you know. Be a doctor, a nurse, a crossing guard or even a ski patrol. On the day of, post an Instagram story and tag us in your costume, we will be reposting some of our favorites. At the end of the day, we will be picking a few of our favorites to win some Bear Valley Swag!

Our lift opts team will also be making some safety sculptures around the mountain! They will be a great photo opportunity, so keep your eyes peeled. Speaking of photo ops, Beary the Safety Bear will be skiing around, promoting overall safety on the mountain. Make sure to say hi and grab some photos with him too!

From 1:00 – 1:30, we will be offering an avalanche awareness workshop put on by our Ski Patrol team. The event will cover avalanche safety basics and will take place at the Beacon Basin just below Cub Park.

The Nickolay Dodov Foundation is also putting on a FREE event on Avalanche Safety event with some of the most respected names in the Avalanche Educational Field. The event will take place January 27th from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM via Zoom. They’re also giving away prizes.
