Skyline Bear Valley Wins SKI Magazine ‘Golden Eagle Award’!
Skyline Bear Valley was nominated and won a bread new award introduced for 2018 honored by SKI Magazine, “The innovation in Sustainability Award.” Recognized for the development and implementation of a renewable energy-powered, “eco-glamping” experience!
We’ve created and will constitutionally expand on a unique and educational glamping experience. Guest enjoy a serene getaway in canvas tents overlooking the scenic Mokelmune River Canyon on National Forest lands. Each tent is equipped with an off-grid Nature Power 1800 watt solar and wind energy-generating system to power CFL lamps or recharge customer electronics.
“This sustainable approach to the glampground is an ongoing effort by the resort to source renewable energy throughout the property,” said Andrea Young, general manager of Skyline Bear Valley. “This summer we will continue to focus and evolve our business to be consciously aware of opportunities to utilize renewable sources to power our operation, and thrilled to be recognized by SKI magazine and the National Ski Association for our efforts.”
In addition, we have joined the National Ski Area Association’s Climate Challenge program and will participate in reducing its carbon footprint and advocate for climate change solutions.
We are excited and honored to be apart of environmental sustainability and climate change awareness!
