If you are hired, you will be contacted by a department manager.  Your start date will not be confirmed until you have completed the following information:

  • Drug Test results showing a negative result.
  • Background screening: Only applies to snow sport instructors, cash handling positions and year-round or seasonal manager positions.
  • I-9 Documents. You can use your driver’s license or I.D. card AND your Social Security card OR your Passport.
  • Work Permit: Only applies to employees 14-17 yrs old and is issued by the school that they attend. Employees that are 17 and have graduated high school will need to provide proof of graduation.

MOUNTAIN OPERATIONS DEPARTMENTS -

LIFT OPERATOR

Operate chair lifts, load and unload guests in a safe and friendly manner. Ensure guests possess valid lift tickets and proper retention devices. Perform crowd control and maintain loading ramp including sign set up, barrier ropes and mazes. Must be able to meet physical demands, have ability to shovel snow and lift small children into chairs, and be able to work in extreme weather conditions.  Must be at least 18 years old.

SKI PATROL

Primary responsibilities are enforcing skier safety on the mountain, perform immediate First Aid and transport injured customers to the First Aid facility.  Other duties include avalanche control, search & rescue and rope rescue.  No Patrol experience required, training OTJ.  Applicants must have advance skiing skills and a current First Responder and CPR certificates with an EMT certificate preferred.

FIRST AID ROOM STAFF

The First Aid Technician provides emergency care, as well as customer service to Bear Valley guests and staff at the ski area. Current EMT and CPR certificates are required with previous patient contact preferred.

SLOPE MAINTENANCE

Provide a well-groomed snow surface for guests. Operate and maintain snow cat, move snow as directed, and groom runs safely and efficiently. Frequently works in adverse weather conditions. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years old.  Experience operating heavy equipment required. Must have own transportation to work this night shift.

TERRAIN PARK

Responsible for the day to day layout and safety program of the terrain park. Maintain terrain park features by raking, shoveling and relocating rails, boxes and snow features as necessary. Serves as an on hill ambassador with responsibilities including terrain park traffic flow management, safety, education and customer service.

SNOW REMOVAL

Remove snow from parking and day lodge areas. Operate and maintain snow removal equipment as directed. Frequently work in adverse weather conditions. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years old. Experience operating heavy equipment required. Must have own transportation to work this late night / morning shift.

PARKING ATTENDANT/BASE OPERATIONS/SKI CHECK

Assist guests with parking, traffic control and direction. Responsible for trash pick up, shoveling snow, parking lot security, barricade and sign set up. Staff will also work ski/snowboard check service. Friendly, observant outdoor enthusiasts wanted to greet customers warmly in a variety of weather conditions. Guest service experience preferred.


MOUNTAIN SERVICES DEPARTMENTS

SNOW SPORTS INSTRUCTOR

Teach skiing and/or snowboarding by providing safe, enjoyable and effective lessons. Must have patience, good communication skills and a desire to work with children and adults of all ages in variable weather. Customer service experience required. Must pass skiing or snowboarding skill test prior to hiring. Training provided.

PRODUCT SALES ASSOCIATE

Sell a variety of lift access products including day tickets and season passes, along with snow sports and rental packages, and food and beverages from a variety of point of sale computer terminal locations. Communicates products and services available efficiently, courteously and effectively while assisting guests in selecting suitable packages. Involves cash handling and accuracy in balancing all transactions. Money handling and customer service experience preferred.

LEAD RESERVATION SPECIALIST

This position is directly responsible for the operation and performance of the central reservations in applying professional customer service techniques in executing the pre-sale and booking of lodging, lift tickets, private and group lessons, rentals, season passes, group functions and all other related products.

RENTAL SHOP TECHNICIAN

Detail oriented applicants are preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; boot fitting, ski and snowboard fitting and filing rental agreements. Explains proper use of equipment and answers questions. Other duties include maintenance, cleaning and testing of equipment.  Must be at least 18 years old.

RENTAL SHOP BOOT FITTER

Fits guests with ski and/or snowboard boots.  Responsible for helping guests get boots, returning boots at the end of the day and some boot maintenance.

RETAIL SHOP ASSOCIATE

Assists guests with the purchase of retail equipment, clothing and merchandise.  Friendly, outgoing people with industry product knowledge and sales experience should apply.  Customer service and cash handling experience necessary.

FOOD SERVER

Job opportunities include cooks, food servers, baristas, bakers, bussers, dishwashers within the grill line, back line, mexi-salad bar, bakery, espresso bar and barbeque. Must interact with customers and co-workers pleasantly and professionally. Training provided.

CUSTODIAN

Responsible for upkeep of facilities including inside and outside general custodial, light maintenance work, and some heavy lifting. Day and night shifts available. Must have own transportation to work night shift. Training provided. This department is responsible for all Bear Valley Resorts facilities, to include the commercial center/BV Village Lodge and ski resort.

SHUTTLE BUS DRIVER

Provides the safe transportation of guests and employees on various routes from Bear Valley Mountain to Arnold. Must possess a Class B Driver’s license with a passenger endorsement, and have experience driving in variable weather conditions. DMV report checked. Customer service experience preferred.

AMBASSADOR

Mountain Ambassadors help take Bear Valley’s customer service to the next level. Similar to an on mountain concierge, these A-Team members perform a variety of essential services primarily during weekends and busy holiday periods including; greeting and offering directions, supporting rental customer sign in areas, assist customers in finding seating during busy lunch times, supporting group services and special events,  assisting customers at beginner lifts, etc. A great opportunity for professionals who also share a passion for the BV experience and want to become a part of the family! Minimum requirement for part time commitment.  Must be extremely knowledgeable about Bear Valley and surrounding region.


BEAR VALLEY LODGE & SKY HIGH P&P, BV VILLAGE

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Job opportunities include food servers, dishwashers, and bartenders. Must interact with customers and co-workers pleasantly and professionally. Food server and bartender tasks include taking and delivering food orders, preparing and delivering alcoholic beverages and cash handling. Dishwashers tasks include washing dishes and cleaning kitchen area.

NIGHT SHIFT DESK CLERK

Front Desk Shift Clerk is a part-time position. Desk Clerks answer phones, check messages, and take reservations for guests seeking lodging. This position also checks guests in that are arriving at the lodge and provide information about lodge services to guests during their stay at the lodge.

SNOW REMOVAL

This position could be part time or full time. The Snow Removal position is responsible for snow removal and janitorial services around the lodge. Applicants for the snow removal maintenance position must be able to lift at least 50lbs. and work outside in various weather conditions.

HOUSEKEEPER

This position in part time. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning rooms in the lodge and providing stay-over service. Housekeepers are also responsible for keeping the common areas of the lodge clean.
