Plans are underway to honor and celebrate the life and times of “Mikey”. 

 

Mike Young, our long time snowsports director and friend to so many guests and staff members lost the battle against Melanoma just before the season opened.  Mikey was an avid snowsports enthusiast that loved life, his family and the mountain lifestyle to the fullest.  He was a huge  part of this mountain for many years  and his memory will live in our hearts forever.  We invite friends of Mike  to join us as we honor him, with his family,  in a rockin celebration on January 30th, 2010.    Plans are starting to come together, so  mark your calendars and
SAVE THE DATE – JANUARY 30TH, 2010.  

The party will get started about 5pm and roll till approximately 9pm.  Mike was an avid family-man, so you can be sure there will be fun for the whole family.  Below is a general schedule of activities.  Remember this is the Mtn’s so times may change slightly depending on how Mother Nature would like to insert her lovely self 

• 4:15pm Garden Party exhibition.  Mini-park will be set up at Panda Carpet for riders and skiers by Invitation only to come put on a show. Contact Chris Moore for more information  chrism@bearvalley.com
  - 5:45pm Load Chair – Snowsports staff (current and former) will show off their skills in a river of fire, torchlight parade. Contact Chris Moore for more information  chrism@bearvalley.com
  - Approx 6:20pm – Fireworks – immediately following torchlight
  - Mikey Toast – immediately following fireworks

Mike’s family will be serving up one of Mike’s all time favorites – Spengers Chowder and French Bread, along with nuggets and fries.  Electric Zowie will be on mtn too.  Will be a great time to get together and join long time friends and share stories about Mike.  Hope to see you there.
