All Mountain Team

ALL.MTN

Bear Valley Mountain has reached its capacity in the Ski Groups of Devo and All Mountain Programs. We are still accepting applications for snowboarders in Devo but no “New” applications for skiers for the 2009/2010 season. Please remember to register early for the 2010/2011 season.

Youth programs are a top priority for Bear Valley. The Mountain’s Team programs are designed to foster a love for snow sports, develop ski/snowboard athletes, encourage a healthy lifestyle and enrich the child/family experience. To aid in increasing attention to team members, Bear Valley has enlisted our Administrative Specialist, Bri Bales, to support registration, scheduling, communication, class organization on practice days and events. If you are interested in the program, please contact Brianna by email.

Our staff is made up of PSIA Instructors, ex-racers and coaches with years of experiences. Athletes will be put into a group based on ability.

The All Mountain Team was piloted in 2009 with great success.  This unique program is designed for teenagers that want to take their skiing to whole new level.  As the name implies, the All Mountain Team experiences nearly every type of skiing.  A typical weekend for an All Mountain tyler.landmember may involve groomed trails, moguls, trees, ungroomed lower mountain, steeps, the terrain park  and even a run or two through a race course.  We decide where we ski based solely on the day’s conditions – exploring and taking advantage of everything Bear Valley has to offer. Of course, the coaches are working to refine technique and build the confidence needed to ski all terrain, all conditions. Our goal: Experts for Life.

Tryouts are required for the teams and space is limited.

TRAINING SCHEDULE:

Attendance is REQUIRED opening weekend so that groups can be formed. This is necessary to avoid ongoing shuffling of participants between groups, provide consistency and improve the overall experience.

Bear Valley Sports Education Foundation (BVSEF)

  • BVSEF is a not-for profit organization dedicated to the support of Bear Valley’s snowsports athletes. Its membership is made up of parents and volunteers, such as yourselves, whose children are involved in the snowsports programs at Bear Valley.
  • All families will need to register on the Bear Valley Sports Education Foundation website at www.bvsef.org. This is a free site with your team membership, but does require a password to access. This is the main form of communication that will be used by Bear Valley and its coaches to keep you updated on your child’s ski program throughout the ski season. If you have not already registered, PLEASE DO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
  • Individuals and families who are not Team members may register on the website as an Associate Member for $25.00/yr or other supporting donations.
  • To help keep the cost down on your child’s skiing program, BVSEF parent members should plan on volunteering their time at the events that take place at Bear Valley throughout the ski season. Some of the events that we support through our volunteerism are:

1). The Rasmussen Classic, our USSA Far-West J4-J5 slalom race will be held on January 9-10, 2010.

2). Jim Bottomley Memorial Race. Date to be announced.

3). Devo Olympics- End of the season race for all Devo participants.

4). Slush Cup Dual Pro-Style GS-A fun race for all abilities is tentatively March 28th, 2010 (new date as of March 4)

5). Auction and Fund raising events, such as our Silent Auction and
Casino Night. (Dates to be announced).

Please help our young athletes by being a volunteer. If all parents could commit to volunteering at these events throughout the year we will be able to help Bear Valley put on a great ski season for our children.
