Hitting the slopes with the youngest members of the family can be an organizational challenge. Our goal is to ensure you have a great day out on the slopes and would like to offer some tips to help ensure your day goes smoothly.
When possible, book ahead.
Reservations should be made at least 2 weeks in advance (earlier for major holidays). Space fills up quickly, but walk-ins are always welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made in advanced in our eStore click here to reserve your space now. If you need help, call our lesson reservation specialists at 209-753-2301 x777 or email email@example.com
Plan to arrive at least 1 hour (1.5+ hours on weekends/holidays) before your planned lesson time. Late arrivals may forfeit their reservation or be placed in a later class.
Dress your child in layers
If the weather changes, they will be able to add or remove clothes as the weather conditions may change.
Make sure your child has eye protection
Sunglasses or goggles for sunny days and goggles for cloudy/snowy days work best.
Helmets are included with all child FULL LESSON PACKAGES (rental, lift ticket and lesson) and are available for rental separately as well.
Make sure your child has had a good night’s rest and breakfast with plenty of water.
Your child will be placed in a group based on their ability and paired with kids of like ages. Once on the hill, classes often shift to accommodate different ability levels.
Facilities for my child 3 years old or younger?
Kids 4-8 will love our Cub Club where they will learn the fun of snowsports and enjoying breaks in our club house. The Cub Club offers both full day and AM or PM sessions. For younger kids (0-3) that are not quite ready for Cub Club, you may contact the main office at 209.753.2301 x732 for a list of local babysitters during your visit to Bear Valley. These local babysitters are experienced watching young children and infants. Babysitters are welcomed to use the “Comfort Room” facility located on the second floor of the Main Office to care for the children. The Play Center offers games, arts & crafts, movies and toys to ensure your kids are having a great time while you dig into the steep and deep. Parents are to pay the babysitters directly. Availability is limited; we recommend that you contact our main office at least one week in advance.
One Stop Shopping
If you need to rent gear, make the RENTAL CENTER your first stop. At the rental center you can purchase everything you need for the day, including lift tickets, lessons and rental gear.
Parents are encouraged to take an interest in their children’s development. However, kids often become distracted (and sometimes distressed) when they see Mom & Dad during their lesson. We ask parents to watch from a distance while kids are participating in any lessons. The Sun Room is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a hearty lunch while watching the kids progress.
Parents are expected to stay at the resort and be available. If your child becomes sick or injured during the course of the day, we make every effort to contact you and ask that you respond as quickly as possible. Pages will be made over a loud speaker inside the day lodge, and signs will be posted on mtn.
