Joining the Cub Club is a great way to learn how to have a great time on the mountain. Your kids will have a blast as they learn to ride, slide or glide down the mountain. Our caring instructors will help your child progress from a beginner “Cub” , to a roaring “Grizzly” and have a great time in the process. Our instructors will carefully evaluate your child’s needs and make recommendations on ways to improve their skills and having a ton of fun everytime they hit the slopes!
Cub Riders Lesson Levels
You are a CUB if you:
- Have never snowboarded before
- Are learning to skate with your board
- Are learning to stop
You are a PANDA if you:
- Know your board parts
- Can hike up hill
- Can skate across the hill
- Can one foot glide
- Can one foot J-turn
You are a KOALA if you:
- Can balance strapped in
- Can basic side-slip heel side
- Can basic side-slip toe side
- Use up & down movement in side-slip
- Can make a controlled stop
You are a Polar if you:
- Know chair lift riding procedures
- Can falling leaf heal side
- Can falling leaf toe side
- Use up & down movement in side-slip
- Can make a controlled stop
You are a Grizzly if you:
- Can spin flat 360?s
- Can make a basic linkied “S” turns
- Use flexion and extension with turns
Skiing Bears Lesson Levels
You are a CUB if you:
- Have never skied before
- Are learning to walk in your skis
- Are learning to stop
You are a PANDA if you:
- Know your ski parts
- Can side-step or duck walk up hill
- Can stand & balance on your skis
- Can straight run
- Can wedge to STOP
You are a KOALA if you:
- Can make a gliding “pizza” wedge
- Can control your speed using different wedge sizes
- Know “Your Responsibility Code”
- Can ride the magic carpet
- Can wedge turn in both directions
You are a POLAR if you:
- Know chair lift riding procedures
- Can make linked wedge turns
- Use an up & down movement while turning
- Match your skis between turns; traverse
- Make linked turns with a skidded finish
- Control your speed using turn shape
You are a GRIZZLY if you:
- Can make a hockey stop
- Match your skis early in the turn
- Make long to medium radius turns
- Can side slip – flatten and edge the skis
- Use steering and angulation
