Safety Week Activities
January 13-19 is National Safety Awareness Week, and we've got plenty of activities to let you know how to be safe in the snow!
Snow-Sculpture Contest
- Our lift ops were busy this week creating a "scene" at the bottom of each lift that depicts a rule from the Responsibility Code. Guests can vote for their favorite scene on Sunday, January 14th. Swing by the Patrol Info Booth that will be located in the Sun Room to cast your vote! Awards will be held at about 4:45- find out which lift wins!
Patrol Info Booth
- Meet our Patrollers at their info booth available on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-4pm in the resort's Sun Room. They'll be handing out information on Snow Sports Safety, as well as accepting votes on your favorite snow sculpture. And while you're at the Patrol Booth, name part of the code and get some goodies!
Mountain Adventure Seminars Info Booth
- And next to our patrollers on Sunday, will be our friends from MAS! Learn more about avalanche awareness and backcountry tours. You can also enter to win a free Level 1 Avalanche Seminar! ($250 value).Free Beacon Training & Contest
- Our Patrollers will have an Open Door Policy this week at the Patrol Duty Stations located at Koala Top and Bear Top. Swing by to ask questions about avalanche transceivers. Also this week, beacons will be buried in the snow at both of these stations for some free beacon training. Come back on Saturday, January 20th, and enter our Beacon SearchContest! The first one to find a beacon will win a collapsible probe from Pieps!
Scavenger Hunt
BVMR is hosting a scavenger hunt for clues leading to the Skier Responsibility Code and Smart Style Elements. Hunt forms can be found at the Ski Patrol Booth in the Sun Room, Bear Top and Koala Top. This will be a family fun challenge the clues will be on beginner terrain.
