Hiking doesn’t have to stop in the winter. If you enjoy visiting wild places you’ll be thrilled to know that snowshoeing can be a fun, energizing and beautiful way to experience the marvels of backcountry winters. The relative ease of snowshoeing allows folks to venture into the winter wilderness without the required years of ski and snowboard training. Let MAS guide you efficiently and comfortably through spectacular winter scenery and experience for yourself the thrills of backcountry snowshoeing.
Come join Hatcher Winery at the BEAR VALLEY LODGE CATHEDRAL LOUNGE Saturday, February 9th from 5pm – 6:30 PM. Join us in the spectacular Cathedral Lounge for an opportunity to taste award-winning local wines. Murphys’ climate closely imitates the superb wine regions in France and produces some of the best wines in the state. Come meet the wine makers, learn how wine styles are created, and the unique characteristics of Calaveras County wines.

MAS strives to develop people’s skills in the mountains and appreciation for the alpine environment. Traveling comfortably and efficiently is a skill learned through experience and training. Knowing your goals and limits can lead to freedom in “wild places”. It is for this reason that MAS offers mountaineering training courses in Northern California.
