NASTAR recreational racing returns  to Bear Valley this season after a very successful inaugural season that saw Bear Valley host more NASTAR race starts than any other California resort. Again, we plan to hold over 20 races this coming season.

Learn essential avalanche avoidance skills during this 3 day course. Focus is on recognizing and mitigating hazards and learning to make good decisions in avalanche terrain. Gain a thorough understanding of terrain and snowpack evaluation, trip planning, travel techniques and rescue skills.

MAS – Snowshoe Adventure

Add some pizazz to your winter and visit Bear Valley for this fun and challenging backcountry snowshoe adventure.  Stomp across snow covered ridges and bowls and soak in the splendors of the alpine environment.  Along the way your guide will share natural history and backcountry travel tips. This trip typically covers 4-6 miles through a variety of terrain in a non-motorized area along the Mokelumne Wilderness. The vistas are world-class so don’t miss out on this opportunity to explore a winter wonderland with MAS.

Crab Feed

Hungry? Good, because we got you covered. On February 16 at 6PM in the Perry Walther Building get your grub on with the CRAB FEED! Prices are $30 Adult / $15 Child. You get Dungeness crab, spaghetti,  salad and dessert. All proceeds benefit – Bear Valley Music Festival. Tickets available at Bear Valley General Store, Bear Valley Cross Country and Bear Valley Sports Shop. For more info call (209) 753 – 2842. 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Immerse yourself during this full day of telemark instruction. Small groups (4 people max) of similar ability focus on skills relavent to the group and snow conditions. Small class size enables personalized attention and plenty of skiing. Come prepared for a day of learning, skiing and fun.
