About Our Coach

tom.usa.campLed by Tom Hinojosa,  Head Instructor and Founder of All American Archery of Santa Clara Valley.  Tom is currently a High Performance Level 3 Advanced Archery Instructor certified by the National Archery Association (N.A.A) and U.S.A. Archery after completing training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in 2007 and 2008. Tom teaches the “B.E.S.T” method, USA Coach Kisik Lee’s Archery form. The acronym “BEST” stands for Biomechanical Efficient Shooting Technique.”

As Rangemaster for the BHUarchers.org club at Stevens Creek County Park archery range and former assistant coach for Stanford Archery, Tom organized his first youth archery program at the Stevens Creek County Park range located in Cupertino.

Tom’s diverse background and education, will provide campers with a broad education in archery, applied movement and more. Tom’s background includes:

- Stanford graduate with degree in Analysis of Human Movement.
- Over 35 years experience teaching and coaching sports and athletes of all ages.
- USA Archery Level III Regional High Performance Certified Coach
- Active competitive archer at 2010 USA Archery Nationals and California State Archery Championships.
- Head Coach/Instructor for All American Archery of Santa Clara Valley
- Training Coordinator for Bowhunters Unlimited Archery Club, Cupertino, CA
- Former Stanford Assistant Archery Coach.
- Former Director of Archery at California Sports Club, San Jose, CA.
- Recently completed seminar in advanced archery training techniques from USA National Head Coach Kisik Lee at US Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs – May 2010.
- Professional affiliations:  USA Archery, National Field Archery Association, National Alliance for the Development of Archery. 
- Employed by National Geographic to analyze educational content for school publishing division.
- Former Senior Researcher at SRI International Center for Technology in Learning.
- Former classroom teacher with credentials in science, math, and physical education; two-time teacher of the year.

When not target shooting, Tom works for National Geographic Publishing in Carmel Valley.
