The Bear Valley Music Festival will hold a free concert on the Hovey Winery Tasting Room lawn, 350 A Main St., Murphys, from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 27 featuring the critically-acclaimed Delphi Trio.

The Delphi Trio also performs on Aug. 1 with the Festival Orchestra in Bear Valley playing the Impresario Overture by Mozart, Triple Concerto by Beethoven and Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge by Britten. A Calaveras Transit round-trip shuttle bus is offered for the Aug. 1 performance from San Andreas, Murphys and Arnold (can pick up at Hovey Winery around 4 p.m.), as well as additional weekend concerts. Advance bus transportation can be arranged by calling the Festival office.

The Trio has performed in 17 countries and four continents and appeared with the San Jose Chamber Orchestra and the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival. They have been praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for “spot-on ensemble playing and a beautifully blended sound.”

The Trio’s Liana Berube, Michelle Kwon and Jeffrey LaDeur are graduates of the University of Toronto, Stanford University and the Eastman School of Music respectively, and formed the trio while studying in the prestigious Chamber Music Program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

The tasting room will be open for wine tasting and wine by the glass or by the bottle. “We are thrilled that the Delphi Trio will be performing at our tasting room,” stated Jan Hovey, co-owner with husband, Chuck. “The Bear Valley Music Festival is magical and we highly recommend that the community supports this 45-year tenured event.”

Hovey Winery is sponsoring the Aug. 2 concert of Jazz phenomenon Taylor Eigsti and the Bear Valley Orchestra. For tickets, bus reservations and information, call (209) 753-2574 or visit bearvalleymusicfestival.org.
