Bear Valley's winter season generally runs from late November through mid-April. Seasonal positions require employees to work on weekends and holidays. Schedules will vary based on weather and crowds.
MANAGEMENT/ADMINISTRATION POSITIONS
MAIN OFFICE ASSOCIATE
Heavy customer contact in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to provide accurate information about the resort, assist in problem solving and maintain excellent customer service. Operate switchboard, enters data, process season passes and performs other clerical duties. Must truly love working with the public and communicate effectively.
CASH ROOM ATTENDANT
Performs a variety of basic accounting practices. Counts cash and balances cash count sheets for all departments. Requires a strong level of commitment, attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently. Previous cash handling and computer experience preferred.
LIFT OPERATOR
Operates chair lifts, loads and unloads guests in a safe and friendly manner. Ensure guests possess valid lift tickets and proper retention devices. Performs crowd control and maintains loading ramp including sign set up, barrier ropes and mazes. Must be in good physical condition, have ability to shovel snow and lift small children into chairs. Must be at least 18 years old.
TICKET CHECKER
Ensure guests possess valid lift tickets and proper retention devices. Assists lift operation staff with traffic control at lifts. Positive and outgoing individuals with customer service experience preferred. This is an outside job working in a variety of weather conditions.
SKI PATROL
Responsible for guest snow safety and administering first aid on hill, speed control, avalanche control, search and rescue, and other related duties. Expert skiers with EMT and current CPR certification. This is an outside job working in a variety of weather conditions. Must be at least 18 years old.
SNOW MAKING STAFF
Operates and maintains snow making equipment such as snow guns, pumps, and snowmobiles. Must be in good physical condition with ability to lift 50 lbs. Must have own transportation to work this night shift. Must be at least 18 years old. This is an outside pre-season job working in all weather conditions. Position begins in November.
SLOPE MAINTENANCE STAFF
Provides a well-groomed snow surface for guests. Operates and maintains snow cat, moves snow as directed, and grooms runs safely and efficiently. Frequently works in adverse weather conditions. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years old. Experience operating heavy equipment required. Must have own transportation to work this night shift.
SNOW REMOVAL STAFF
Removes snow from parking and day lodge areas. Operates and maintains snow removal equipment as directed. Frequently works in adverse weather conditions. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years old. Experience operating heavy equipment required. Must have own transportation to work this late night / morning shift.
PARKING ATTENDANT
Assists guests with parking, traffic control and direction. Responsible for trash pick up, shoveling snow, parking lot security, barricade and sign set up. Friendly, observant outdoor enthusiasts wanted to greet customers warmly in a variety of weather conditions. Guest service experience preferred.
SNOW SPORTS INSTRUCTOR
Teaches skiing and/or snowboarding by providing safe, enjoyable and effective lessons. Must have patience, good communication skills and a desire to work with children and adults of all ages in variable weather. Customer service experience required. Must pass skiing or snowboarding skill test prior to hiring. Training provided.
TICKET SALES ASSOCIATE
Sells a variety of lift tickets and packages from a computer terminal. Communicates products and services available efficiently, courteously and effectively while assisting guests in selecting suitable packages. Involves cash handling and accuracy in balancing all transactions. Money handling and customer service experience preferred.
RENTAL SHOP TECHNICIAN
Fits and adjusts ski or snowboard equipment for guests. Explains proper use of equipment and answers questions. Responsible for maintenance, cleaning and testing of equipment. Customer service experience required. Must be at least 18 years old.
RENTAL SHOP BOOT FITTER
Fits guests with ski and/or snowboard boots. Responsible for helping guests get boots, returning boots at the end of the day and some boot maintenance.
RETAIL SHOP ASSOCIATE
Assists guests with the purchase of retail equipment, clothing and merchandise. Friendly, outgoing people with industry product knowledge and sales experience should apply. Customer service and cash handling experience necessary.
FOOD SERVICES STAFF
Job opportunities include cooks, food servers, bussers, dishwashers, and cashiers within the grill line, back line, mexi-salad bar, bakery, espresso bar and barbeque. Must interact with guests and co-workers pleasantly and professionally. Training provided.
CUSTODIAL SERVICES STAFF
Responsible for upkeep of facilities including inside and outside general custodial, light maintenance work, and some heavy lifting. Day and night shifts available. Must have own transportation to work night shift. Training provided.
SHUTTLE BUS DRIVER
Provides the safe transportation of guests and employees on various routes from Bear Valley Mountain Resort to Arnold. Must possess a Class B Driver’s license with a passenger endorsement, and have experience driving in variable weather conditions. DMV report checked. Customer service experience preferred.
PRESCHOOL TEACHER/CHILD CAREGIVER
Seeking a preschool teacher and aspiring individuals to work in our on-mountain child care program. Open seven days a week during the winter season, licensed for ages 2 to 10 (completely toilet trained). Teacher must have 12 ECE units, and caregivers must be currently enrolled in an early childhood education course.
